    “I simply could not escape the gravitational pull of music and have spent my life pursuing this art as a vocalist and trumpet player.”

    Mr. Bachelder graduated from Berklee College of Music in 2000 with a Bachelors of Music with emphasis on vocal performance and songwriting, then a Masters in Music from USC in 2006 in Jazz Studies as a voice principal. His beautiful wife of 21 years and their two kids have been his muse throughout. Mr. Bachelder has taught music and voice at TVT for over a decade and he is the Associate Director of The Innovation Institute there. He has recorded with Steve Miller, performed for David Bowie, and recently released a jazz album with Jason Lee Bruns entitled Cherry Avenue and a self-titled all-original album.

    Stephanie earned a B.S. in Organizational Psychology at Concordia University, Irvine. She is currently completing her Masters in Education in School Counseling with a Pupil Personnel Services Credential also at Concordia University, Irvine. She has two young children of her own and loves volunteering and spending her time with children of all ages. She spent ten years in management and is excited to be a part of the Lower School team at TVT.

    "As a history teacher, I am able to guide students to understand and learn from the patterns of history.  No other job provides this opportunity to explore the past and impact the future on a daily basis!"

    Ms. Batley earned her M.A. in Education and California teaching credential at Claremont Graduate University, and her  B.A. in History and Government at Claremont McKenna College. She is most proud of her M.S. in International History from the London School of Economics and Political. Prior to arriving at TVT, Mrs. Batley spent several years teaching International Baccalaureate European History, Asian Studies and World History at various International Schools. As a reader for the College Board, Mrs. Batley graded AP European History short-answer and document-based exam questions. She currently enjoys being the teacher advisor for TVT's Model United Nations club.

    In her spare time, Ms. Batley enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and going to the beach.

    Ms. Bergamini earned her BS in Middle and Secondary Education at Butler University in Indianapolis, Indiana. She has taught a variety of Social Studies courses as well as English as a New Language. During the past two years, Ms. Bergamini earned a certificate in trauma-informed teaching and started learning Spanish. She is very happy to be a new resident of California and uses her free time to explore as much as she can.

    "Mathematics is its own beautiful language! My passion for math impels me to make other people love it, connect with it, and understand its uses."

    Mrs. Berkowitz holds a B.A. in mathematics from Michigan State University and a M.A. in Education from Grand Canyon University. Before moving to Orange County, she taught at Milken Community High School and Windward School in Los Angeles. She also helped write and edit, “The Monstrously Fun Fraction Book” in 2003, which is structured around a series of lab activities designed to familiarize elementary and middle school students with fraction terms, fraction concepts, and operations with fractions. She has been teaching math at TVT since 2009.

    In her free time, Mrs. Berkowitz enjoys doing adventurous activities like scuba diving, hiking and rollerblading with her husband, son and daughter.

    “Listening to the children singing in Hebrew and learning about the Holiday Stories throughout the year truly warms my heart.”

    Mrs. Bezalel attended Miclala Leminhal College in Israel and she completed an accounting major. When Mrs. Bezalel immigrated to the United States, she found her passion was to teach Hebrew to children. She then became certified in early childhood development. Mrs. Bezalel completed various Hebrew courses to be able to teach Hebrew as a second language and has now spent the last 27 years at TVT and. It is her love of teaching Hebrew to children every day, and seeing their faces light up as they experience their love of the Hebrew and Jewish heritage that has helped Mrs. Bezalel to stay at TVT.

    In Mrs. Bezalel’s free time, she enjoys cooking, Israeli dancing, reading and drawing.

    Ms. Bloom received her B.A. in History from California State University, Long Beach, where she also earned her California social science teaching credential. She is passionate about history and thrilled to share that excitement with students!

    Ms. Bloom is an Orange County native and active in the Jewish community. In her free time, Ms. Bloom can be found walking her dogs, visiting the mountains, and writing screenplays.

    Mrs. Elise Blum has spent over 20 years in independent school education, serving as a social studies teacher, school counselor, college advisor, and administrator. Born in upstate New York and raised in Connecticut, Elise attended Brandeis University in Waltham, MA where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Education. She went on to earn a master’s degree in Teaching & Learning from the Harvard University Graduate School of Education in Cambridge, MA.

    Before joining TVT, Elise was the High School Principal at American Heritage Schools in Plantation, FL where she previously served as Assistant Principal and Assistant Director of Guidance & College Planning. Elise began her career in education teaching social studies in Massachusetts and then Florida. Prior to teaching, she served as a program director and educational coordinator at Project Vote-Smart, a non-profit, non-partisan, political education organization. 

    Elise believes in creating a safe and supportive learning environment where students can take risks and try new things; as the Jewish proverb says, “whoever does not try, does not learn.” She is also committed to fostering strong relationships with faculty, staff, students, and parents. 

    In her free time, Elise enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and dog (Precious Blum). She feeds her soul by reading, practicing yoga, hiking, running, and eating yummy and healthy food.

    Mr. Bogdanovic has his B.A. from U.C.S.D in Quantitative Economics and Decision Sciences. He received his teaching credential and conducted further graduate work through Vanguard University. Before coming to TVT, Mr. Bogdanovic taught in Capistrano Unified School District and Tustin Unified School District.

    When not solving math problems in his spare time, Mr. Bogdanovic can be found playing golf or surfing.

    Profesora B's Spanish journey started with an invitation to live with family friends in Argentina in middle school. That experience changed her life and has resulted in a 22 year teaching career from university to elementary levels. She holds a PhD in Hispanic Literature from Indiana University, MA from Georgia State University, and BA from Mars Hill College. She has studied and worked in Argentina, Mexico, Spain, and Ecuador. Prior to moving to California from Minnesota, she taught at St. Catherine University.

    Beyond the classroom, Profesora B enjoys spending time with her family and exploring the world through travel, reading, volunteering, and cooking. She sails, bicycles, swims, plays tennis, and practices yoga. She also speaks Danish.

    “I am passionate about using current events and trends from Israel’s culture to enhance the language concepts I teach my students, providing them with the opportunity to transfer their classroom education into everyday usage of the Hebrew language.”

    Mrs. Bracha earned a B.A. in Sociology and Anthropology from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, a Teaching Certificate of Education from the Talpiot College in Tel-Aviv, and a Certificate for Advanced Hebrew Teaching and Mentoring from the Hebrew College in Boston. From 1992 to 2000, Mrs. Bracha worked in schools throughout Israel. In 2000, Mrs. Bracha, along with her family, moved to the United States. Since starting to teach at TVT in 2006, Mrs. Bracha has had the opportunity to serve in several different roles including TVT’s Neta Coordinator and Upper School Hebrew Department Chair, along with teaching Hebrew for various grades and levels.

    Jasmine Broderick graduated from UCSD with a BA in Political Science, and received an MA in Theatre & Performance from Queen Mary, University of London, where she focused her studies on public perception and arts education.  Before joining TVT in 2019, she held leadership roles at multiple private schools in Orange County, developing a passion for increasing access to independent education. Prior to her work with schools, Jasmine worked in marketing and communications for the Corona Symphony Orchestra, and as a reporter and anchor at a nonprofit radio station in LA.

    When not at work, Jasmine enjoys exploring new places with her husband, James, and relaxing at home with her two cats, Daisy and Dilly.

    “Ther is no place I'd rather be than working with students to help them succeed in life. The testing center is just a small piece of what makes TVT amazing, but I'm so happy to be a part of it !” 

    Originally from Massachusetts, Ms. Broderick earned a B.S. in rehabilitation services at the University of Maine at Farmington. She is a frequent traveler both for leisure and to help further her education. Prior to coming to TVT, she worked in New Zealand with adults with intellectual disabilities, and furthered that course of education by working with special education students in Massachusetts. She is now very happy to be the new Testing Coordinator and Counseling Services Assistant.

    In her spare time, Ms. Broderick enjoys walking her beagle, painting and doing other crafts, and swimming in the ocean.

    Ms. Broderick is a geologist with more than 10 years of experience as an educator in middle school. She earned a B.S. in Geology from Florida State University and her Masters in Education from the University of Scranton. She is a former field engineer/geologist having worked both in the oil and gas industry and in environmental remediation. She comes to TVT from Massachusetts, where she's more recently taught a variety of math and science in several settings.

    Susanne's passion is to inspire students to be curious and to ask questions, take risks, and grow their confidence in learning.

    Mrs. Brown is a graduate from the Manhattan School of Music in New York City. Her major was piano performance. She also studied at the Rubin Academy of Music in Tel Aviv. Pnina Saltzman was her master teacher. Mrs. Brown has been involved in many music organizations, including the Music Teacher Association of California and The Orange County Orff-Schulwerk Association where she has been the Vice-President of Programming for the past 15 years. Mrs. Brown’s education, combined with her love of children coupled with her love of Judaism, makes Tarbut a perfect fit.

    In her free time, Mrs. Brown loves to be with her family and friends.

    "I believe in the power of a scientific worldview to unleash creativity and improve the human condition. I love guiding students to ask and answer their questions and appreciate science as more than just a collection of facts."

    Mr. Buck graduated with honors from Christopher Newport University with a B.S. in biology and leadership studies. While working as a scientific researcher, he earned an M.S. in biology from The College of William and Mary, specializing in evolutionary biology and conservation. With more than six years of experience in independent schools, his courses prioritize critical, creative, and collaborative thinking and curiosity to empower students to envision themselves as scientists. Mr. Buck also works with the National SEED Project to promote equity, inclusion, and diversity within schools.

    In his spare time, Mr. Buck enjoys being active within his local community, travel, and bird watching.
