Middle & Upper School Admissions Process

Thank you for your interest in applying to TVT middle and upper school (Grades 6-11). Below are the steps of the admissions process. The Priority Admission Deadline is February 1, 2025. Applications (and required documents) received by the deadline will be eligible for a $1,000 early enrollment credit per incoming student at enrollment. 

Admission Process

  • Step 1: Visit TVT (Optional)

    Families typically begin the TVT Admissions process with a visit to the campus. Our Open Houses and campus tours provide an introduction to the school’s educational philosophy, curriculum, extra-curricular activities, facilities, faculty, staff, and students.

  • Step 2: Apply Online

    There is a non-refundable application fee of $125.

    Priority Application Deadline is February 1, 2025. We support a rolling admissions process after the deadline. Please contact the admissions office to inquire about space available before applying at admissions@tarbut.com.

  • Step 3: Submit Required Documents

    TVT requires the following support documents to complete your application:
    • Math Teacher Recommendation
    • English Teacher Recommendation
    • Administrator Recommendation
    • Release of Academic Records
    • Applicant Questionnaire

    Helpful Hints:
    Please print the applicant’s name on each form.
    A parent/guardian must sign each recommendation form and release of records.
    Give the form’s to the applicant’s school. The teacher/school will mail the forms directly to TVT.
  • Step 4: Student Visits

    Once TVT has received all application and supporting documents, a school visit day (shadow day) or assessment will be scheduled. During this visit, your child will have the opportunity to interact with our current students and faculty. The Admissions Office will contact you to schedule your student visit.
  • Step 5: Independent School Entrance Exam

    Grade 6-12 applicants will need to schedule a time to take the Independent School Entrance Examination (ISEE). This admission test is used by many independent schools and is administered at several local sites.

    You may register and find locations/dates on the ERB website. All test results must come directly from the testing company. TVT’s school code for ISEE is 054346.
  • Step 6: Admission Decisions

    The Admissions Committee will meet to evaluate a student’s completed application for admission. The decision is an intricate one based upon submitted information, historical data, class dynamics, assessment, and observation; qualified siblings of current students in good standing have first priority.

    Decisions will be posted in myTVT late February/Early March. We support a rolling admission policy for any remaining available spaces after March.
  • Step 7: Enroll

    Upon acceptance, families will be asked to complete their child enrollment to TVT within 10 business days. Enrollment contracts are submitted online with a non refundable initial tuition payment.
